Nick Ferguson has a broad practice across common law, public law, criminal and quasi-criminal law matters, with a particular interest in trial work. Nick has experience in judicial review, coronial inquests and maintains a commercial practice. Nick is highly experienced in defending tortious claims against the State, particular where such claims intersect the criminal law.

Nick currently accepts briefs in relation to common law, criminal law, quasi-criminal law, public & administrative law matters and has a growing commercial law practice.

He advocates for clients including the State on matters involving intentional torts, Police torts and negligence claims. Nick has represented the Chief Commissioner of Police (Victoria) and understands the importance of risk management and litigation outcomes.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Nick worked as a solicitor and worked for Victoria Police advising the Chief Commissioner of Police on liability and issues arising out of Police torts and coronial inquests.

Nick is recognised for his communication abilities and engagement with client witnesses. He enjoys using these skills to draw the best evidence from witnesses, providing favourable solutions to his clients.
