It is with great pleasure that Chapman’s List welcomes Emily Allan to our growing list of barristers as our newest reader. Emily will sign the Bar Roll on the 4th of May and will be available to accept briefs from the 8th of May.
Emily practices primarily in criminal and quasi-criminal law, as well as appearing in family, public and administrative law matters.
Emily comes to the Bar with over 10 years of experience as a solicitor-advocate in criminal law. She has appeared regularly in the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts in plea hearings, contested committals, appeals against sentence, bail applications, and contraventions. Emily has also appeared in the County Koori Court.
Immediately prior to being called to the Bar, Emily was Associate Director of Indictable Crime at Victoria Legal Aid.
